ADMISSION TO SECOND YEAR / THIRD SEMESTER DAY AND EVENING DEGREE COURSES UNDER LATERAL ENTRY SCHEME TO DIPLOMA HOLDERS FOR THE YEAR 2004 – 2005 (ONLY FOR KARNATAKA CANDIDATES)

 

1.              Applications are invited from candidates who have passed Diploma Examination conducted by the Board of Technical Examination in Karnataka or an equivalent qualification for Registration to the “ENTRANCE TEST” for admission to Day & Evening courses in Engineering in Government, University, Private aided and Private unaided Engineering Colleges in the state of Karnataka for the academic year 2004-2005, under lateral entry scheme. (Evening colleges are only at Bangalore and Mysore)

2.              The Entrance Test is also the basis for admission of eligible diploma holders to 2nd year / 3rd Semester B.E. / B.  Tech degree courses and 1st year/1st semester B.  Arch. degree course.

3.              ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY: In case of second year / third semester B.E. & B. Tech, degree courses, the applicant should have passed the diploma in the appropriate branch of engineering conducted by the Board of Technical Examinations in Karnataka or an equivalent qualification. In case of first year / first semester B. Arch degree course, the applicant should have obtained atleast 50% of the total marks in the final year diploma examination. (40% the total marks in the caste of SC / ST / Category – 1 Candidates.)  Such candidates are also required to pass an APTITUDE TEST, which will be conducted on 16.08.2004 between 2.30 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. in the premises of CET Cell, 18th cross, Sampige road, Malleshwaram, Bangalore-560003.  The candidates who do not appear for the Aptitude test will not be eligible for admission to 1st year / 1st semester B. Arch. Course.

4.              SUPPLY OF APPLICATION FORMS: The application forms and admission tickets along with instruction manuals will be made available to the candidates in the following registration cum examination centers from 03.07.2004 to 29.07.2004.

         N.B: Candidates seeking admission to Evening Colleges have to register the application, and appear for
                  the Entrance Test, at the above Evening Colleges only.
         
          The interested candidates can procure the applications from the principals of the above Institutions by           
           submitting a demand draft for Rs. 550/- drawn in favour of the “Special Officer, CET Cell, Bangalore”. 
           The application forms will not be issued upon remittance of application fee in cash

 

5.              SUBMISSIN OF FILLED APPLICATION FORMS: The filled application forms along  with the admission tickets should be submitted  to the same nodal centers where they have  obtained the application. Examination on or before 31/07/2004 (before submitting the filled application form for the Entrance Test, please refer item 6(B) at page 7 of instruction manual.

6.              The Entrance Test will be conducted on Thursday, the 14th August 2004 between 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 in all examination centers shown above, in accordance with Government order No. ED 106 TEC 2004, dated: 29/07/2004.

NOTE: The candidates are advised to read the instruction manual carefully before filling the application form

and also before registering for the entrance test.
